$24.99 - Free Shipping In The USA
TV series of Anglo-German origin, set in the "present" Earth of the 1970's. A planet from another solar system drifts into Earth's system and is detected by some scientists who investigate. The surface of this planet is no longer habitable and the residents have moved to a high-tech underground city. The society is ruled by women, who of course, are all beautiful. Men are considered mentally inferior and are divided into two categories: the "adequately intelligent" who are selected by women to act as their personal "domestics" for household chores, and the remainder who are forced to perform menial labor under the supervision of female guards. The guards are attired nicely in visored helmets, boots, hot pants and elbow-length gloves which are used to control the men through some sort of apparent force. Scientists from Earth (two men and one woman) find their way to the planet and are forced to take their stated places in society. One man is chosen as a domestic, the less fortunate man is forced to work on a city maintenance crew and the woman is assigned a white-collar job. The aliens also visit Earth clandestinely in their tear-drop shaped ship. Some episodes bluntly address the issue of unfair discrimination based on sex.

The Vampira Show

(1954)
$19.99 - Free Shipping In The USA
Maila Nurmi was the host of the show, which ran on Los Angeles TV station KABC from 1954 to 1955. Each show opened with Vampira gliding down a dark corridor flooded with dry-ice fog. At the end of her trance-like walk, the camera zoomed in on her face as she let out a piercing scream. She would then introduce (and mock) that evening's film while reclining barefoot on a skull-encrusted Victorian couch.

Film presented: The Thirteenth Guest (1932)
13 years before the story opens, there was a dinner party, at which the 13th guest failed to show up. The master of the manner has died and left the bulk of his estate to this 13th guest, but nobody knows who that is. Now someone is murdering the remaining guests and placing their dead bodies at the table, in the same seat they had occupied 13 years before. Stars Ginger Rogers and Lyle Talbot.

On June 20, 1955, Nurmi was the victim of an attempted murder when a man forced his way into her apartment and proceeded to terrorize her for close to four hours. Nurmi eventually escaped and managed to call the police, with assistance from a local shop owner.

In 1981, Nurmi was asked by KHJ-TV to revive her Vampira character for TV. She eventually left the project over creative differences. According to Nurmi this was because the station cast comedic actress Cassandra Peterson in the part of Elvira without consulting her. Nurmi soon filed a lawsuit against Peterson and the show Elvira's Movie Macabre. The court eventually ruled in favor of Peterson, holding that "likeness" means actual representation of another person's appearance, and not simply close resemblance." Peterson claimed that Elvira was nothing like Vampira aside from the basic design of the black dress and black hair.

So join Boris Karloff for another journey into the world of the unexplainable which lies behind...The Veil. (Uncut).

Morris Ankrum died of trichinosis on September 2, 1964, Pasadena, CA. Trichinosis is a disease caused by eating undercooked meat containing cysts of Trichinella spiralis. Trichinella spiralis can be found in pork, bear, walrus, fox, rat, horse, and lion meat. When a person eats meat from an infected animal, Trichinella cysts break open in the intestines and grow into adult roundworms. The roundworms produce other worms that move through the gut wall and into the bloodstream. These organisms tend to invade muscle tissues, including the heart and diaphragm (the breathing muscle under the lungs). They can also affect the lungs and brain. Ankrum was 67 years old.
