Peggie Castle retired from acting in 1962. She married director William McGarry in 1964 but would be married four times overall. Sadly, she subsequently became an alcoholic and died from cirrhosis of the liver on August 11th, 1973. (31 days after Bruce Lee). She was 45.

Arthur Franz lived in New Zealand for many years but wished to return to California during the last stages of his illness. He died from emphysema on June 16th, 2006. He was 86.

NOTE: This extremely rare film was one of many that were influenced by the summer blockbuster film Jaws (1975), which featured sea creatures that were blown out of proportion to monstrous size. This film featured a giant mechanical manta ray, similar in construction to the mechanical great white shark in Jaws, which was produced to cash in on the then current craze of sea monster films that flooded the market in the 1970's and 1980's.
