In this retelling of the story of Adam and Eve, a bus heads for Reno. There's a traveling salesman (Mel Torme), a two-bit casino owner and his sexpot wife (Mickey Rooney and Fay Spain), sex-kitten Tuesday Weld as a teenage runaway, the voluptuous Mamie Van Doren as Eve and Martin "Marty" Milner (of ADAM 12 fame...no pun intended) as Adam. Paul Anka plays rock 'n' roller Pinkie Parker, who steers his hot rod jalopy with his feet so his hands are free to play his guitar and sing the title tune. The film begins in black and white until they reach the Garden of Eden at which point it turns into "Spectracolor" then back to black and white after Adam bites the apple.

The Catholic Legion of Decency gave this film a "Condemned" rating.

They kill one of the monsters that turns out to be a god to the Venusian women, bringing the wrath of the alien women down on them and making them determined to destroy the "intruders." Note: This feature is actually a re-edited version of a film previously released in the U.S. as Voyage To The Prehistoric Planet (1965), which itself was an edited and dubbed version of a Soviet film titled Planeta Burg (1962). For this version, the already dubbed Russian footage was re-used, but the American insert shots of Basil Rathbone and Faith Domergue were removed and new insert shots featuring Mamie Van Doren and other actresses (as inhabitants of Venus) were inserted. Director Peter Bogdanovich did the narration as if he were one of the cosmonauts telling the story in flashback. Some additional special effects shots from another Soviet production, Nebo Zovyot (1960), were also added. For this version, the famous shot of the Venusian reflected in the pool of water was removed. The "Prehistoric Women" do not appear in the original Russian film, from which this one was made.
