Ram Chandra (Nasser) lives in a shanty hut in Bombay's Dharavi, along with his mother and younger sister. He leaves home, makes his fortune and creates several colleges to accommodate needy students. One such student is a new arrival from Allahabad, Raja (Kunal Singh). Ram arranges Raja's admission into Ram Chandra College for Business Management with full room and board. He also tries to help Raja sort out his personal problems, which includes his romance with a young woman he met at an Internet Café and then at the Bandra Railway Station. While Ram is busy arranging the marriage of his daughter Roja (Sonali Bendre) with Rajesh Gupta, the only son of a millionaire, he is unaware that the object of Raja's affections is none other than Roja. Kunal Singh committed suicide on February 7th, 2008. His body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his Mumbai home early that morning. He was 32.
