(1956) $19.99A young immigrant hopes to work his way up in the world, but for now he's the janitor living in the basement of the building where a pretty woman (Gloria Talbott) lives that he loves. Among the books he buys to practice reading English is an almanac from the future, 1997. A strange little man dressed in a white suit is trying to get the book back, as the young man realizes that he could make a fortune with the future knowledge. The woman's brother helps him bet at horses and win. The woman loves the young man, especially if they become rich with the book, but the little man from the future convinces them to give it back, since foreknowledge will ruin the potentials of their lives for honest growth and success.
